    • Capstone Homes built this 1,941-square-foot affordable home in Bellemont, Arizona, to the high performance criteria of the U.S. Department of Energy Zero Energy Ready Home (ZERH) program.
    • This cost-effective home was built in Flagstaff Meadows, which is Flagstaff's first Zero Energy Ready single family home community.
    • The builder specified that the home's dual-pane, low-E, U=0.34, vinyl-framed windows were a model compatible with the home's high altitude setting.
    • ENERGY STAR-certified appliances including the refrigerator and the dishwasher add to energy savings.
    • The Internet-connected home security and energy management system includes leak sensors in the bathrooms and kitchen that will alert homeowners if there are leaks in the faucets or under the sink.
    • All of the home's lighting is LED, with two interior motion sensors and two interactive light switches.
    • Two inches (R-10) of rigid foam lined the interior of the perimeter footing walls before the post-tensioned slab was poured.
    • The home's 2-by-6 walls are filled with R-22 of open-cell spray foam, which insulates and air-seals the exterior walls.
    • The attic is insulated along the underside of the roof deck with 8 inches of the roof.
    • A natural gas 94% efficiency tankless hot water heater provides endless hot water.
