    • The home’s high-performance SIP walls and roof combined with advanced HVAC and a 9.5-kW solar electric generating system plus solar water heating to provide the homeowner with nearly $1,900 in annual energy cost savings compared to a similar-sized home built to the 2012 IECC.
    • Advanced lighting is used throughout the entire home—all of the lighting is LED.
    • The home’s open floor plan makes good use of the highly efficient triple-paned windows, which flood the home with natural light.
    • Low-flow water fixtures and faucets were installed throughout the home to improve water conservation.
    • An ENERGY STAR-rated refrigerator and dishwasher are installed in this home for increased energy savings.
    • This home qualified for the EPA Indoor airPLUS certification, indicating that it meets a host of air quality specifications.
    • The home’s high-performance building envelope consists of structural insulated panels (SIPs) –- walls are 6-inch R-29 panels covered with house wrap and roofs are 10-inch R-42 panels covered with ice-and-water shield for an airtight, water-resistant, highly insulated home.
