Course covers operations and maintenance (O&M) best practices for photovoltaic (PV) systems of 100 kW or less, including planning for a PV O&M scope of work and maintenance procedures to keep the system operating at optimal capacity.

Course outlines the necessary steps for directing ongoing or new operation of photovoltaic systems for the life of the project across a variety of system types, sizes, and environments.

Course provides an overview of operations and maintenance (O&M) best practices with a focus on corrective, preventive, and predictive infrastructure requirements and commissioning for existing buildings.

Training covers definitions of performance metrics, performance evaluations of federal systems, life cycle cost considering Availability and Performance Ratio, elements of an O&M plan, PV O&M costs and benefits, alternatives for funding and contracting for O&M, tactics to reduce cost and improve effectiveness of O&M (sophisticated software, IR drone inspection, vegetation, and cleaning, etc.)

Training covers key topics such as, site screening for techno-economic viability, project validation, procurement specifications, request for proposal (RFP) considerations, construction and project commissioning.

Training presents information to consider early in project development and equipment specifications; to consider in system operations to extend useful life; to consider after severe weather events that generate waste; and to consider when repowering or decommissioning a system. Life cycle cost comparison of alternatives is presented including decisions that are driven by tax considerations of private partners (PPA providers).

This training addresses PV system vulnerabilities that may lead to severe damage (e.g., hail, wind, fire, heavy snow) beyond routine O&M plans and budgets and will focus on best practices in design, installation, and maintenance for avoiding damage and equipment failures, from the electrical system to the racking to the modules and the fasteners that tie these components together.

Recent legislative and executive action developed plans for workplace charging and fleet acquisition of plug-in electric vehicles (PEVs). Drivers who are unfamiliar with the technology often have questions about the different types of vehicles, safety, battery range, charging, and maintenance. This course presents clear answers to common questions about PEVs.

This training consists of an in-depth overview of pricing in energy savings performance contracts (ESPC) at the intermediate level. An overview of price and/or cost analysis techniques will be provided to evaluate the offered price to ensure that the final agreed-to price is complete and reflects appropriate implementation costs and is transparent.

Recorded webinar offers an overview of energy savings performance contract (ESPC) project management principles, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) IDIQ ESPC, and DOE's Project Development Resource Guide, which FEMP-approved project facilitators are expected to follow.
