Optimal Site Selection and Sizing of Distributed Utility-Scale Wind Power Plants

In this paper, we use hourly wind-speed data from six geographically diverse sites collected by the Minnesota Department of Public Service to provide some insight into the potential benefits of disperse wind plant development. We provide hourly wind power from each of these sites to an electric reliability simulation model.
