In this 2020 Energy Exchange Extra session, presenters demonstrate how to successfully obtain advanced metering data, analyze the data to identify issues, and improve building operations and maintenance efficiency.

In this recorded webinar, FEMP discusses planning considerations and strategies related to federal fleet electrification, including federal energy goals, EV acquisition, capital investments and financial support.

Course focuses on managing the water-assessment process in federal facilities and assists federal energy and facility managers in complying with executive orders and legislative mandates and meet the requirements of Section 432 of the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007.

Course covers operations and maintenance (O&M) best practices for photovoltaic (PV) systems of 100 kW or less, including planning for a PV O&M scope of work and maintenance procedures to keep the system operating at optimal capacity.

Course outlines the necessary steps for directing ongoing or new operation of photovoltaic systems for the life of the project across a variety of system types, sizes, and environments.

This training series focuses on federal facility auditing requirements, types of remote audits, how to use the Facility Energy Decision System (FEDS) building analysis tool, and how to perform remote audits and analyze the building data with FEDS. This second training in the series provides an introduction to the FEDS building analysis tool.

Training covers definitions of performance metrics, performance evaluations of federal systems, life cycle cost considering Availability and Performance Ratio, elements of an O&M plan, PV O&M costs and benefits, alternatives for funding and contracting for O&M, tactics to reduce cost and improve effectiveness of O&M (sophisticated software, IR drone inspection, vegetation, and cleaning, etc.)

Training covers key topics such as, site screening for techno-economic viability, project validation, procurement specifications, request for proposal (RFP) considerations, construction and project commissioning.

Training presents information to consider early in project development and equipment specifications; to consider in system operations to extend useful life; to consider after severe weather events that generate waste; and to consider when repowering or decommissioning a system. Life cycle cost comparison of alternatives is presented including decisions that are driven by tax considerations of private partners (PPA providers).

This training addresses PV system vulnerabilities that may lead to severe damage (e.g., hail, wind, fire, heavy snow) beyond routine O&M plans and budgets and will focus on best practices in design, installation, and maintenance for avoiding damage and equipment failures, from the electrical system to the racking to the modules and the fasteners that tie these components together.
